With a loud roar, the shiny planes whizz past overhead as you cycle under the flight paths of Brussels Airport. The perfect location to take it all in is the spotting platform along runway 25L/07R in Steenokkerzeel. You can see the planes from miles away when they are just a bright dot in the sky, and you can follow them until they touch down on the hard tarmac of the airport in front of you. Very impressive! There are always a few plane spotters watching with their cameras or binoculars at the ready. The airport site covers1,245 hectares and spans part of the municipalities of Zaventem, Machelen, Steenokkerzeel and Kortenberg. There are three runways that form a Z shape: the two parallel runways 07L/25R (3,638 m) and 07R/25L (3,211 m) and the cross runway 01/19 (2,987 m).
