Chapel 't Eikske

The place for prayer, set amidst the fields of Neerlanden, carries a mystical aura. A small three-hundred-year-old chapel, a stone altar, some benches and a circle of trees around it. And beyond that, just the silence, swaying wheat fields and fruit orchards. A perfect tranquil spot to unwind, truly removed from it all. One bench particularly stands out: the blossom-inspired artwork Mimesis by artist Wilfried De Cock. It has a stately Gothic arch, topped with a graceful apple blossom. The core and seeds form a perfect pentagon, just like the petals of a blossom flower. An ode to fruit cultivation. The sentence on the artwork comes from Sufism. What piece of wisdom do you take from this? You have to discover that for yourself!
