There you can see numerous paintings from the Dendermonde school of painting, a lifelike miniature version of Dendermonde's Ros Beiaard and the armour of the Four Sons of Aymon. The 49 bells of the belfry ring out every 15 minutes. That belfry is a UNESCO world heritage site, as is the St Alexius Beguinage.
The Church of Our Lady is a magnificent example of Scheldt Gothic architecture. In 2024, the church was awarded two stars by the Michelin travel guide. Among other things, you will find two paintings by the Flemish master Antoon Van Dyck. Park up your bicycle, give your cycling legs a rest and and take a trip along the Scheldt or the Dender.
